Historic and Cultural Sites

Built by the King of Pergamum Eumenes II, the ancient city of Hierapolis was home to several glorious civilizations.  The historic city includes the main boulevard and gates, as well as fountains, churches, Necropolises, Theater, the Temple of Apollon and the Ancient Pool, which contain healing waters that astonish all the experts. Hierapolis is considered a sacred city in Christianity because St. Phillip, one of Jesus’ twelve disciples, was crucified here in 80 AD.

Pamukkale has received more than its fair share of the natural beauty on the planet. Its unique healing waters and cultural heritage have made it a popular destination since antiquity. Pamukkale is on the UNESCO “World Culture Heritage” list and overlaps the ancient city of Hierapolis. There are seventeen thermal water regions in the area with temperatures ranging from 35-100 degrees Celsius.

One of the largest ancient cities in Anatolia, Laodicea is an important and sacred Christian site. It is the home of one of the seven oldest churches mentioned in the New Testament.

The ancient City of Aphrodisias is one of the most magnificent of the ancient Greek and Roman cities in Turkey. Named after Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, the city had a long and prosperous existence from the second century BC to the sixth century AD.
